 I guess if sensor size and manual controls do not matter to you, then yes, you should probably not pay extra to get the S95 (or the Oly xz-1). again, totally different type of camera, for totally different audience IMHO. for ppl who will do mostly auto-shooting and looking for an ultracompact P+S, I agree this is an awesome deal. |

Wow, this also does stereo 1080p video at 24 fps. If only it also had 10x optical zoom instead of 5x, this would be the perfect deal for me. It is with great pain and agony that I hold off on this deal and wait for something to hopefully match my wants on Black Friday.

I had the 300hs which is the one this camera replaces. It's really the perfect keep-in-your-pocket camera. Very compact. The s95 is in a tier above this IMHO.

I almost thought this was the price the the Canon Powershot S110, the ELPH 110 doesn't look so bad compared to the S110 especially for the price.

One thing I've noticed with many 1080p cameras is that they limit the length of each individual video to around 20-30 minutes, regardless of how much memory you have. I don't know if that's standard or not (I'm a complete camera newbie), but it's something to keep in mind if you intend on capturing long videos. |
