Tiger Direct has a Hisense F42K20E 42" Class LED HDTV - 1080p 60 Hz (Refurbished) for $249.99 - $50 coupon code (YYR77233) = $199. Shipping for me was 15.34 (depends on shipping address, I believe) for out the door price of $215.33. Sales tax only in TX, SD, NC, IL, ID, GA, FL.

This is the cheapest I have seen a 42" LED HDTV 1080p. It may not have the great specs or be a great brand, but for the price it can't be beat. This sells for new on Walmart.com for $368 + Tax and has an 81% recommendation score.

Seems like there are only 2 reports on here of problem TVs. At least from what i'm seeing.

People with problems always post. People who get a problem-free product rarely do.
Shh! I'm trying to quell my sadness by convincing myself that all of the TV's are showing up in 35 pieces!

I just got mine. I'm amazed! It looks like its brand new, and the screen is flawless! Only thing I found wrong was a small crack in the remote, but its hardly noticeable. My only complaint is that the remote didn't come with batteries :p

I wish you the best of luck. Bummed I missed this one. I don't even need a TV. It was basically temporary Slickdeals insanity.

Sweet baby jesus!!! I just saw that this TV has a VGA port! WOOT!!! My current office TV (Amazon TCL 40") doesn't have a VGA port Frown I HOPE HOPE HOPE that my Hisense is pristine cause I work on a lot of family/co-workers desktops and having a VGA would be sweet. Sure would make it a lot easier than having to hook up the desktop to my main monitor.

Upgrade 2 inches AND a VGA port. Hell yes please!!!!

-edit I R stupid, the TCL has a VGA, but it's on the BACK, ie a major PITA if you need to get to it regularly. The VGA on the Hisense is on the side... where it SHOULD be Smilie

Given that there was a firmware bug on the early units (there's a patch for it) I was rather hoping most of these units got returned for that instead of being repo'd from trashed section 8 housing units.

Here's hoping mine hasn't been 'refurbished' by a 6 year old with a hammer.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the VGA port IS in the back, not on the side. But, it is the closest port to the edge.

Yea Walmart's pictures are wrong. There are no HDMI ports on the side either, they are all in the back. Instead, there's a composite, component, coax in, and headphone out on the side.

I wouldn't get it, just because Scratch and Dent sounds pretty horrible: "There may be cosmetic defects on this TV: screen scratches, dead pixels, lines, or repainted cabinets"
I'm going to hazard a guess that most or all of their scratch & dent TVs have their scratches and dents on the screens. They have some incredible deals on there.

Just pre-connect the cable and tuck it in the back. Pull out when needed. Problem solved. You are welcome.

keep in mind that Tiger Direct has a reputation to uphold...dont laugh...

I just received mine today and was told that the box was in good condition. Why comment on the box? If your box is jackked up, I hate to see what the merchandise inside looks like Smilie

Once I crack it open, I'll reply back

Interesting, my order went from process to all backordered, to shipping today, so we'll see what I get. I ordered fairly early from TD not Amazon. Hope I'm not getting someones beat up return from earlier this week, DOH!

Welp, I just got my TV and set it up.

Bad News: The TV is a little dinged up. It looks like the person repairing it got pissed off and took a screw driver to try and pry the casing off on the side of the frame. The stand had a tab that was supposed to align it with the TV, that was all bent up and I had to break it off to get the stand on, but it is still sturdy as it has 2 other tabs and 4 screws to hold the TV to the stand.

Good News: Screen has no scratches from what I can tell and no dead pixels. It came with a fully functioning remote and no missing buttons!

So the important part is the TV functions well (haven't tried inputs yet), but just the aesthetics aren't the best. Luckily most of the frame damage is at the back. Also, I don't notice any static sound like many were complaining about when changing channels. And the sound is fine considering the speakers.
