My in laws bought a Target $85 3-year extended warranty on a floor model Vizio 55" LCD we bought them. I advised against it, but I used a Target card for the extra discount, so no extended warranty available. The circuit board went out 2x on the Vizio after the one year warranty expired. TG they had the warranty, otherwise they'd have a brick sitting on their wall. On a large flat screen, if you don't have at least a 2yr warranty from a doubled up cc, I don't think it's all that bad of an investment. Especially on entry level or Samsung sets.
