Err... 30" inseam would be about a 51 or 52; maybe 53 or 54 would be a bit more stretched (french fit). You, at <5'6", should probably be riding a 50 or 51 unless you have really long legs for your height. Usually, the rule of thumb is 2/3 of your inseam (crotch to ground).

A medium will likely fit someone up to 5'10" or 5'11".

It's a sloping down tube so the seat tube measurement is a little misleading. Effective top tube length is usually a good indicator of size.

For reference, I am 5'10" with shorter legs and a longer torso. Although I love the traditional flat top tube style, I fit best on a shorter seat tube than top tube. I'm right around a 54-55cm seat tube with a 55-56 top tube.

If this is all new to you, you should probably go to a bike shop and get fitted and measured before dropping $1000+ online for a bike.

That being said, this is a damn good deal and anyone looking for a carbon bike should jump on this. SRAM Rival is plenty for anyone looking into really diving into cycling and if you want nice wheels that will be considerably lighter, you need to drop $800+ anyways alone.

I think a lot of you may need to read about bike fit and geometry. A 54cm frame isn't the same as 54cm frame from a different company. Here's a real world example: I ride a 48cm frame, but if I look at the geometry, the 48cm frame is very close to a 52cm frame with traditional geometry.

good price for a relaxed geometry. its obviously made in china... so the name ridley doesn't mean squat. it comes with almost full rival set. this is a steal of a price especially those who plan on doing some normal riding.

What carbon frame isn't made in China, or more likely, Taiwan? I trust Taiwan frames more than US made ones or anywhere else. At least get to know where the highest end bikes come from nowadays before you spout off your anti-China sentiments.

Only trashy bikes like Felt, Specialized, Giant, Blue, Pinarello, and Cannondale are made in Asia. I only ride Madone 7s, R5CA's, or Parlee Z5's which are made here.

High end Colnagos and Looks are still made there. Pinarello still paints their bikes in Italy and slaps the made in italy decal on them.
