Herman Miller is going to start their semiannual 15% off sale on November 19- December 10. All authorized dealer (if not most) should carry the sale event. HM will only honor their 12 year warranty from their dealer. Just pick anyone in the link.

To get a even better deal, use your Discover card. 5% cash back on online or department stores.

Try out the chair at your local store before you decide to buy or not. DWR or Room & Board have floor samples. They will have the sales event too.

I miss out on the prior Steelcase united way sale as I really need a new task chair. Want the Slickdeal Leap chair sale price.

Currently using those chair from Office Depot/Staples/Offic Max that I have to replace every 2-4 years cause they break down or cushion worn out. Not sure If I really want to pay Embody price or just get Aeron/Mirra. Not sure why but for me Mirra feels more comfortable over Aeron.

Sorry no hdmi attachment.Stick Out Tongue And the price if not for everyone. New chair every few years vs $$$ for a very comfortable chair that should last a long time (12+ years).

I have chronic back and hip pain. Will these insanely priced chairs help?
These chairs are highly overrated and outrageously overpriced. I owned a fully loaded aeron for a long time up until a few days ago when I sold it on craigslist for $150. I recommend looking for a used one, but they aren't very comfortable. Many of them don't even have a locking recline, which is ridiculous on chairs that are $600+. Go used or go home, unless you're a millionaire.

I recently picked up an Aeron chair for home use and will share my thoughts.

It's OK. I'd pay about $450 for an Aeron Chair.

Now the Embody chair---that's a whole dif game.

Best bet is to buy used for these. High ticket item and they last forever.
Disagree. I got mine for similar price to secondhand but configured the way I wanted. Even though they're solid chairs second hand ones can be totally dilapidated. Also half the value in these chairs is the 12 year warranty.

If you don't like them that's certainly your problem. If you sit for a living like I do they are very, very good. But the reason you buy these, and buy them new, is pretty simple: 12 year warranty.

I was at a HM test site where they took people of all different heights/body types and put them in like 10 different chairs. That embody chair is amazing. Best sit I've ever had in a chair. Wish I could afford one, but I'll pick one up someday.

I was never impressed with the Aeron chair. My old office got them when the renovated, but just ordered the same medium size for everyone. Since I am a little over 6'3 and about 250 lbs, it didn't quite cut it. I assume if it was the right size I would have liked it more, but for those of us that were very big or very small we were all very disappointed.
We're about the same size, I'm an inch taller and about 10lbs lighter, and the Aeron Large I bought for home is excellent. You definitely need the large (3 dots), and while I hated spending as much for a chair, it was well worth it, since I bought it used in perfect shape with all the accessories at well over 50% off. Definitely keep an eye on CL or even Ebay for a local closeout before paying retail minus 15%.

I'm looking into the used option too. Found one on Craigslist from a teacher 800 Obo and still listing. If I can bargain 600 I might jump. But the 1k + is kinda way put there just for home use. At work we use crap chair cause if you have the best chair in there. You can rest assure its not going to be your butt that's touching it.

if we wanted to buy from the website, is there a promo code? or is that automatically applied on the 19th?

do we need a promo code for this 15% off on their website? or are all items automatically 15% off starting nov 19th?

Go check them out in person. I bought the Envelop Desk and Embody Chair for similar reasons and I've loved both. It was tough to plunk down the cash, but I find it much easier to get up at the end of my workday and feel able to get on with the important parts of my day. That's my experience, though. You may find that this combo isn't right for you. Either way, go somewhere that have folks that understand the products and can show you how to properly setup each one. That was a big key for me. I had multiple brands and models that I previewed with a person who knew the proper ergonomic setup. Eventually, I took my laptop to a showroom that had the Envelop and Embody, set it up as I would use it and tried "working" for a couple hours.

I can't guarantee that every showroom will be as friendly, but I think they all understand the cost concerns.

It's starting now. It looks like the 15% is automatic. No promo code required. Everyone make sure to purchase from an authorized retailer so that you get the warranty.

Forgive me, I said I'd pay that much. Meaning I would only buy the chair again if it cost that much.

Just ordered from OfficeDesigns.com, authorized dealer, 5% cash back from Mr. Rebates and 5% using Discover card. I checked most of the other authorized dealers for additional rebates, but this one seems to offer the best.
Their ordering system is a little wacky, though. It's 5 minutes after i clicked "submit order" and even though I've already received the email confirmation, the web page still hasn't finished processing.

Always buy the extended warranty too!

On a more rational note, paying nearly double for the security blanket of a factory warranty one these chairs is silly. These chairs are rock solid, and unless you are buying for a workplace, a warranty is overkill, and overpriced. Say something goes wrong, it doesn't mean you have to use the full amount you saved by not buying direct and buy a new chair, it means you go buy a part on ebay and fix the issue.
