T-Mo site lists the phone with a "suggested" retail price of $499.

2 year agreement requirement. Overpriced. You can get it unlocked for $349.

Not too bad of a deal for those not wanting to put up $349 upfront. Seems to be a valid price for those with grandfathered plans and those with t-zones if they order online.

Compared to a value plan, you'll pay $20/month more on most cases, making the actual cost $199.99 + $20 x 24 = 679.99 (+tax, +shipping, +activation) over two years.

You could buy two of them at full price instead!

This phone is only for Tmobile as I stated Tmobile.com if you are not Tmobile do not bother. Right now Google store sold out ebay the price is overprice many 16gb people bid to $500
If you want to get this phone for free wait few years. You have smart phone why you stick with wifi or hot spot only? you must be outdate, you need to have data plan to share with laptop/tablet.

What he meant is that if you buy the unlocked version you would then have the opportunity to use other cheaper carriers like Straight Talk. If you are not familiar with their services, their quality is no different if not better than Tmobile, due to the fact they lease towers from both At&t and Tmobile for coverage. That is why what he said actually is valid in regards to other carriers that provide unlimited data/talk/text for 20 dollars less than what Tmobile would charge for its inferior plans. Check out Straight Talk for more details (associated with Walmart)

There are only 20 payments of $20 on the value plan (total price = $599.99). I realize this is a lot more than buying unlocked, but please get your figures straight if you want to "educate" others.

Um, no. Even if you are a current T-Mobile customer, you should not get this. Current T-Mobile customers whose are eligible for a new contract should instead switch from a Classic plan (i.e., carrier-subsidized devices) to the equivalent Value plan (without carrier subsidies). That will save them $20 per month, and in the long run, make it MUCH more worthwhile.

I'm a T-Mobile customer on a Value plan, and getting this phone for $199 would require that I switch to a much more expensive Classic plan and cost me several hundred more.

No, I'm talking about classic versus value. If you buy it at this price, you agree to a 24-month contract on classic plan, which is (more or less) $20 more expensive than value.

On value you can buy it directly from Google (whenever it comes back in stock).

Thanks, that's what I was trying to say. $20 here is not the data plan price, it's the average difference you'd pay extra compared to cheaper plans.

Can anyone confirm if the Nexus 4 purchased from T-mobile store is SIM locked to T-mobile? Also, do they keep track of IMEI numbers for the Nexus 4 in the same manner as other Android smartphones & block them from using T-Zones and Web2Go ($5.99/$10 plans?) I did noticed when looking at it in the store that these are identical to Google sold Nexus 4 phones (not a single mark by T-mobile, no branding at all), so I wander if they are unlocked and will run on any plan... Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for any info anyone may provide.
