Amazon.com Gold Box 11/15: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (15-disc Extended Edition) Blu-ray $43.49
Amazon is selling The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Extended Edition) on Blu-ray for $43.49.
The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (The Fellowship of the Ring / The Two Towers / The Return of the King Extended Editions) [Blu-ray] (2012) [amazon.com]
"Today only, save on the deluxe 15-disc set that includes extended editions of "The Fellowship of the Ring," "The Two Towers," and "The Return of the King" on Blu-ray. It also includes nine special feature DVDs with over 26 hours of spell-binding behind-the-moviemaking material and the rare "Costa Botes Documentaries."
Deal Ends 11/15 or as long as stock lasts, this is a Gold Box Event [amazon.com].
EDIT: There has been some confusion about this version vs. the 2011 version, as Amazon states that the 2012 version has a 1.77:1 aspect ratio (16:9). According to some research, and some common sense, this is believed to be a typo by a few posters here (myself included); it seems that the new edition was basically released just to remove the digital copy bonus that was included last year and is now expired. I had trouble finding any information on the common sites about the 2012 version, but Typeoserv seems to have found a link to the 2012 version at DVD Empire: POST 34
