Becasue they are much heavier and the value in laptops is weight as much as any other spec.

The SSD is not a discrete SSD storage. It is part of the Intel Rapid Transfer and serves as a cache for frequently used files.

You can't install any programs or your OS on that SSD directly. The OS and all progs get installed on the HDD. Which in my case is the WD Blue Drive (5400 RPM). Phys sector size 4k

I am planning on swapping that out with the Scorpio black but wanted to know if anyone had any success with installing Windows 7. Thanks!

Beware of operating system issues

I purchased this laptop a few days ago and expedited the shipping. After using the laptop for about an hour I was satisfied with the product and was looking forward to using this for years to come.

This morning I attempted to turn on the laptop and the operating system failed. After spending an hour on the phone with Dell Support there was nothing they could do remotely and offered to send new operating disk software, which would take 24-72 hours for delivery.

I have decided to return the product and now that there are several more Black Friday deals, I will look elsewhere. I'm assuming my order was a fluke, but I did want to let others know.

Xps is built better than the inspiron. I had to take apart one of these the other day to replace the MB. Was a pain in the ....

I just bought a lenovo y580 today because the dell I bought 6 months ago is a POS.
I didn't have the extra $$$$ to spend, but it was worth it.
