Thread Details

With hunting season full on, I was looking for a extra smaller freezer that would be easy to move from apartment to apartment. I came across this one at Target.

Normally: $169.99
Sale: $129.00
Savings: $40.99 (24%)

There are a couple of questionable reviews there, but I plan on purchasing the extended warrenty JIC.(either through target 2 years $17, or squaretrade 3 years $19).

It might be worth reviewing the manual for the product. I read something in another freezer thread that caught my eye. It stated that the manufactures recommended ambint room tempature for that freezer (not this one) was between 50 degrees and 80 degrees.

Basically it was not good for use in a garage in the colder areas of the North/midwest. Just some food for though on this (and all Freezers). It was news to me.

It looks like it would be a tight fit. Pony Kegs are 17", interior width for the freezer is 17.2". How can you get the keg in and out? No room for your hands.

Not really true, while most people do use a external temp controller there generally is not a need for one.. I have made keezers out of quite a few freezers by tweaking the internal thermostat.

i am well aware of this. i'm also well aware that it doesn't work with all freezers (certainly didn't work with mine). i'll spend the $25 on a temp controller...

Hmm..yes it is back to 129. Weird, guess I'll take a look before they change their minds on the price again...Thinking maybe the $148 5.3cuft professional at Menards as well [inserts2online.com]...don't think I want to jump to 7cuft even though it makes sense...just don't need it and I'll be moving at least one more time within the next year or so..

Right, not sure the reviews are "questionable, The only 2 reviews on this are bad and simply state that the freezer died in no time at all.
