How do these compare to the Western Digital and Seagate network hard drives? Anyone know? The reviews for those appear to be pretty mixed on Newegg and Amazon, and this one only has one review between the two sites.

I just scanned my entire library of CD's into my local hard drive..(200 GB's). I wonder if this thing is easy to use..

This single, lonely Amazon review [amazon.com] should sway any potential buyers looking to use the bundled software.
NAS capability seems to be limited to 7MB/s, even over GbE. User manual and software can be found at the CANVIO Personal Cloud website [toshibastorage.com]. |

I got a 3tb wd red and a pogoplug and going to see if i can customize it to be more fluffy cloud than default

the amazon review was replied to by Toshiba directly and suggested the reviewer update his software and that should help. |

This..... doesn't appear to be an amazing deal.
just a kind of warm, sweaty underpants sort of deal. If you really need a NAS, STAT -- this could be a deal. Otherwise I think you can wait. |
