Will this work with my HP Touchpad? It a better price than Happaugue Broadway which is old and still sells over the 150+ range and do not want to pay for a Slingbox and THEN for the app.

For example, I can run MediaPortal TV Server on my desktop PC. XBMC on Android can stream from that TV Server. |

you can theoretically do that by VPNing in, but you'll need a fat pipe. I don't think the HDHomeRun re-encodes on the fly so you'll need a 20mbit/s upload/download at least. |

In my world android was ported to the touchpad over a year ago I would say.......

Question: I have basic cable that requires a small set top box (provided by the cable company) to descrambles the channels. Can I plug this unit directly to my set top box and record shows? I currently have Vista with Media Center that works great with my bunny-ear antenna, but was not able to have it detect any channels through the set top box.

You are a sucker if you buy this product to hook up to cable. Soon, it will work almost no where as the cable companies are now allowed (and will soon) to encrypt all channels - even free to air broadcast channels
