Two channels and you can add more of these devices to the network if you want to record more. Realistically, most HDD systems can only handle 4-5 simultaneous recordings unless you spend big money for all SSD storage.
I thought i had read something that fios was going to somehow block the cablecards? or stop offering them? i remember hearing something that would make it so fios specifically would no longer work. i don't want to buy somethign until i remeber what this limitation was.
If they block CableCards they will have to offer IP TV using customer's devices, since FCC specifically restricts a cable provider from only offering services using their own devices.

Can I split signal from the Time Warner cable box to this SiliconDust HDHomeRun tuner and a TV? I should be able to record any show including on-demand shows?

Reason: Automerged Doublepost
6 TV's in the house with Verizon FiOS and we only pay $4.99/month to connect all 6 of them. Thanks to Ceton InfiniTV and Windows Media Center.
No app on the Touchpad will play directly from the HDHomeRun. A program has to be running on a PC which can decode the streams and transcode it to the Touchpad. Doubtful any such app exists for the Touchpad. Android and iPad will have them.
For example, I can run MediaPortal TV Server on my desktop PC. XBMC on Android can stream from that TV Server.
I can stream from my Ceton InfiniTV4 in my pc to both the Touchpad or any iOS device via Splashtop. This is my setup for March Madnees.
You won't be able to get the OTA channels though the cable operator however. e.g.. KPIX will be scrambled on the cable feed and you will need either a cable card or a STB to access it.
I see your post in the wiki. The dual works with both atsc and clearqam.
OTA is atsc as in outdoor antenna
The signal from a cable provider is clearQam. Even with the fcc ruling this will still work with an outdoor antenna.
