Nice price. $10 cheaper than other place. This model does not stream media from LAN though.

As far as local network playback, other recent LG SmartTV devices I've bought from 2011 forward have a Plex client called "Media Link" that works great.

Well if it has Plex then this thing is like a Roku with a disc drive. How about the streaming quality? Does it stream well with 1080P? What about video formats? Do any format types jutter over WiFi?

First, I won't be 100% sure this this has Media Link (Plex) support until I receive mine and power it up, so for now it's best to assume it's NOT there. Second, I watch mostly 480p and 720p Plex streams on other SmartTV devices (works great) so can't speak to 1080p. The last Plex format list I saw was:

Thanks for the feedback. If this has Plex client it is a 100% buy. Since this deal goes until 11/22, perhaps I will wait for confirmation.

I find it strange that this is not an EnergyStar device when its power rating is:
Power On Consumption: 11W
Power Off Consumption: Under 0.5W

It won't be released until 11/21, so you may not know anything by 11/22. However, I see it on BestBuy's web site for $59.99 so it's only a $10 difference.

I've browsed through the manual already [lg.com], but I don't see it mention Plex anywhere. For video format support, it only applies to media on USB device or on disc.

I know, but if you browse the Smart TV information on LG's web site, Media Link is right there on the screen captures. Like I said, best to assume it's NOT there until someone gets their hands on one.

New product may take some time to be compliant of EnergyStar.

By comparing this model with bp220 and bp320, this model has no DMP (DLNA). So it is likely a reduced function model for the holiday season.

Yeah, I'm withholding judgement until I get it in hand.

On my LG TV, the DLNA browser is not part of Smart TV and is instead listed on the input selection screen i.e. "HDMI1, HDMI2, USB1, USB2, AV1, AV2, COMPONENT1, COMPONENT2, NETWORK (DLNA)."

On the other hand, Media Link is part of the Smart TV menu so my hope is that it will be there. However it works out, it's not a big deal to me because it's for my kids' playroom and they're on Netflix and Amazon more than anything.

Does this do amazon instant? (prime)

I can't find any info on this at lg and its not one of the devices listed at amazon.
