Dear LG Smart TV Registered User,

It has come to our attention that some one-year Netflix promotional coupons have been provided to users who do not qualify for the current LG Smart TV Netflix promotion. Only eligible owners of a 2012 LG Smart TV qualify to get a Netflix Coupon after they register for a Smart TV member account.

As a result, the Netflix coupon code which was redeemed has been cancelled.

If this is an error by LG, please visit www.lg.com/netflix to re-register your TV serial number to acquire a new Netflix promotional code.

LG values your business, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

If you purchased one from ebay. File a chargeback/paypal dispute and report the seller to LG.

Basically, if you actually bought a LG TV and registered a real serial number, you're fine.

If you registered a fake serial number, you're SOL.

If you bought a code from someone who got it via a fake serial number, you're SOL.

Karma.

Heads up,

LG is currently sending out notices regarding the Netflix promotion.

All illegitimately obtained codes have been cancelled.

If you actually own one of the select SmartTV models, you can still get a code for 1 year of Netflix.

If you bought or traded for a "generated" code, get a refund as all of those codes have been invalidated.

Posting this here as I know a lot of people ended up buying generated codes from a handful of SD sellers. Don't want any SD members to get burned by dishonest activity. OMG

same as how software companies (Adobe, Microsoft, etc) knows which serial codes used are genuine and which ones were generated.

nah..they won't. If they do then you can always cancel and they usually credit the money back with a simple phonecall

If they used it already then they'll be fine.... I gifted few to folks at work and it worked 3 days back.

Tried to give a spare to my in-laws and it failed to register yesterday... For some reason my wife said afterwards that she knew I hated them anyways
