Name of A Book? There's this kid, I THINK his name was Bryan [we'll say Bryan from now on], that decides to run away from his home because of some bullying problem. He secretly hitches a ride in the back of a small plane that his father's friend owns. The plane lands somewhere up North, probably Alaska, and after it lands, Bryan sneaks out of there. The plane landed to drop of or pick up some supplies but things suddenly go wrong. Two people approach the plane and kill the pilot and I think there was another person too. The two people, in which you find out later, were on the run and this place is home to a lot of people who 'don't want to be found'; due to long heavy snow storms. Bryan witnesses the killings and runs for his life, eventually becoming lost but then found by this mysterious, soon to be friend. Bryan explains what happens to him and urges him to find help, but that's when he learns about the weather situation, where he will now have to hold out for spring? As Bryan resides in the cabin with the stranger throughout the the winter, he will be taught on how to survive. However, Bryan notices the stranger and his close relationship to a wolf(s). I believe it's a Male and Female. The convicts look for a kid and then come up onto the cabin; both parties know each other. They find out about the kid and figure out it was him who saw them kill the pilots so now they are plotting on killing him and stranger. The convicts shoot one of the dogs to stir something up; the stranger finds the dog, brings him/her in and tries to heal them. While the other dog sits outside the cabin waiting for the injured dog; they do feed him him/her around the waiting period (emotional moment in the book ![]() ~~Forward~~ Stranger breaks into convicts house. Convicts and stranger fight tenses up. Stranger decides to hike back with Bryan to the nearest civilization to alert the authorities. Convicts chase the two throughout the mountains. Stranger is killed and Bryan is forced to go through this journey alone, with all the knowledge the stranger left him. Bryan reaches a river? then some people. His dad finds out and rushes to see him. ~~~ Obviously there was more to it but the chances of me finding the name of this book is really slim and it has been about 4 years since I read it so most of the details escape me now, but I have really been looking forward to reading it again, or at least finding out the title. So if anyone that is into books, maybe by any chance, have you guys heard of a novel described by my poorly written recap points? |

Happiness and depression are both feelings, just like joy and anger. It's not feelings that give us problems. It's what we do with them that makes the difference.

Sounds like it was maybe a mix between some sick sexual fantasies you may have involving wolves and domination? I dont think hatchet involved murdering or anything. Good luck on your quest.

funny, I was hesitant in posting in The Lounge because of the threads/replies I read last night like yours, this is like a whole new world from Hot Deals. Therefore sir, I take your comment as a welcome. I appreciate the luck though! It's a very good book, if it happens to be found. |
