Looks like finally I can get a discounted phone for my sero p plan - the sprint website almost never lower their prices a la wirefly/amazon etc. Would prefer the evo 4g lte though... but will take the gs3!
Best buy can handle sero-p, I say so because I bought an iPhone in this spring there with $50 GC. And it was from sero, not sero-p.

Megan: I am sorry, I will not comment regarding the prices and offer on Black Friday.
You: why not?

Has anyone with SERO-P upgraded online and kept their plan?
I talked to a very helpful rep in the SERO department that said there would be no problem for anyone with a SERO plan that wanted to upgrade to this phone. However;
Nice price. Last week, I upgraded for the full $199 with 2-year agreement. I wonder if Sprint would do a price adjustment.
I was told no, I'm out of my contract (standard $30 / 500 minute plan, no premium) and asked if I could buy the S III now for $199.99 and have them price match on Black Friday. They refused to due it, however, you have to wonder if push came to shove would they price match?
I'm just happy to hear that I can buy an S III online instead of having to go down to the store and having to deal with the crowds BS. I'm going to call the SERO department today to verify.
BTW, the rep with whom I spoke with last week (for over an hour) provided many details of the SERO program I wasn't aware of. For instance, I was told before by another rep that once you go to a SERO premium plan that you can't go back to a standard plan. Apparently that is not true. I can buy the S III and a month later go back to the standard SERO plan and the phone I'm using now without any consequences. Simply deactivate the S III and reactivate the phone I have now (HTC TP2). Also, I didn't know that if you go over your minutes for the month, and your statement has not closed, that you can purchase 100 anytime minutes for $5 to cover the overage minutes (instead of paying $0.45 per minute). Or that I can move my plan to the $50 / 1200 minute plan if I so desire, and back to the $30 / 500 minute plan without consequences. I would imagine most people knew about these "options" with SERO but I didn't. I was actually thinking of dumping my SERO plan but after she explained some of these options and that 4G LTE should be done in a month or so, not to mention the cheapest plan for the SIII is $69.99 for 450 minutes, I'm sticking with sprint.
Crappy cell service but great phone.
Great service where I'm at, and with 4G LTE being implemented in my area now, $50 a month seems to be the best deal. Looked at Boost mobile, no roaming though and I need that.
EDIT; BTW, if you have the SERO plan you cannot upgrade through Sam's, Best Buy or any of the other retail deals available Thursday or Friday. I was told you can only upgrade through Sprint SERO Telesales @ 888-882-4030

I'm still on SERO with a TP2 - could anyone give the details on the SERO P plan (cost/minutes) if I buy this phone?
I think I'm off to bed. It's been fun, folks. Another late night on SD, another night filled with frantic reading, clicking, ordering, and spending money - followed by nail biting, pangs of regret, and hopeless wonder.
