Unable to view Map On Websites on Chrome and Firefox
Whenever I am on a website with option to show location with Maps either Mapquest or Google maps, I am unable to see the Maps. It is blank! What is causing inability to see it. E.g. http://orange-county.entertainment.com/discount/browse.shtml Unable to see the Maps Last edited by vodreaux; 11-17-2012 at 06:58 AM.. If you have a common add-on on both chrome and firefox then it may be the problem. If the new profile doesn't make the map visible then you might want to reinstall the browser. |

Addons like adblock, ghostery, disconnect, ... have potential to cause problems.
Trying another profile or safe mode in your browser is a good idea. Do maps show up properly when you directly to google maps or mapquest? Do these sites work properly in IE? |
Yes, I have ADblock but I disable it and remove it. Same problem! Google Maps or Map quest works fine by itself. As for IE, I get the following message "To Help Protect your Security, IE has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors. Click her for options." Click on it:- Display Blocked Content! -- It works. Sadly, Entertainment.com use Mapquest! |
That's kind of weird as the page your link redirected me to has no secure or encrypted content. Updating your certificates could help, but I don't see where you'd be getting any secure content from if you were at the link you posted. What OS version are your running?
In chrome does a little silver shield show up on the right hand side of the of the location bar? If yes, click it and choose load anyway. |
I do not see the shield at the right hand of my location bar! I provided screen print - See the center, I unable to see the maps for Entertainment.com. I selected Round Table and choose to view specific map. Nothing PHP Code:

list the add-ons you have on both chrome and firefox as well as the security-related software installed on your system may give us more clues. Since the maps work when directly connected the problem is probably not the browser(s) installation but the stuff that try to make you feel more secure.. I remember noscript was one of them that default blocks most of the embedded objects.

Please try this! You can also try launching firefox in safe mode (you should have a shortcut for this on the start menu). A screen shot showing the whole window would be more useful (you can hide the bookmark toolbar first). Also look at / take a screenshot of the panel that appears when you click on the site's icon or the generic icon just to the left of the address (connection tab not permissions). |
