It worked for me too! MusiciansFriend price matched at $349. They also told me that I would qualify for the 150% price match guarantee, and I should expect to hear back in 2 weeks via e-mail about a $150 gift balance to my account. Since I chose the Tobacco Sunburst model, it was $300 off the actual price of the guitar. Unfortunately, I had a hard time cancelling my original price match purchase with Music123. I had placed an order a few hours earlier with Music123 before I found out about the 150% price match policy at Musician's Friend. Although Music123 seemed to have excellent Customer Service agents, the issue turned out to be that Music123's e-store system is integrated directly with Musician's Friend's inventory/e-store system. In fact, when I originally called Music123 for a price match, it was during business hours and I spoke with an employee at Music123. However, when I called to cancel my Music123 order, it was past closing time. The Customer Service agent spoke to was a MusiciansFriend agent, and my phone call was automatically routed to Musician's Friend since Music123 was closed. Although I have two separate accounts with two separate log-ins for Music123 and Musician's Friend, when I spoke to the agent, he saw both orders under one account (tied to my phone number and a specific customer number/ID). He couldn't tell the difference between which order was through Musician's Friend, and which order was from Muisc123, as he could not see the times that the order was placed. I'm in a odd predicament now - I received a shipping confirmation from Musician's Friend for the order I placed through them, but then the person I spoke with ended up cancelling the wrong order, so I also received a cancellation e-mail from Musician's Friend instead of Music123. Since the cancellation e-mail specifically lists my Musician's Friend order number, I know that this is probably going to mes sup my 150% price match promotional offer. Musician's Friend places a 2-week hold on these price match offers to allow time for customers to return merchandise or cancel orders, in which case they will not issue the promotional gift credit. So it will look to them as though I cancelled my order, when in fact, my order did ship and I was charged. The CS agent assured me he would correct everything, but the e-mails I received after our chat leads me to believe that I will have to place a few more calls in the next couple of weeks. Either way, this is a very slick deal! Reps to the user who pointed out the 150% price match at Musician's Friend! |

Sounds like a pain. Hope you are able to get it all worked out. Strange that he could not simply look up the order number.
Now I am glad I didn't get that living social discount code. Would have used it right away and missed that big coupon. I hope your right that the coupon gives account credit. I have a few coming my way. Would be great to combine them all together. But they have an expiration date so it might not work that way. Heck the csr didn't even know how they worked. The coupons havr a max value of $100 now. Hope that doesn't mess with your order. Who knows maybe music123 will send you an extra guitar. Last edited by Drastion; 11-25-2012 at 03:18 AM.. |

Fantastic guitar. Couldn't find any defects in craftsmanship. Has fret buzz only on the low E string, but I can fix that in a minute. Cutaway is perfect for even large hands like mine, but I need to oil the fretboard (especially since the inlays catch/grip my fingers). About 1/2" shorter than a Fender Strat, but it looks much shorter in person due to the design and patterns (tobacco sunburst). Great tone - this may be come my new favorite in my collection.

I finally received my credit for price-matching with Musicians Friend. As we all guessed, it turned out to be a $150 coupon code! Unfortunately, I only have 10 days to spend it before it expires, and it doesn't stack with other deals, offers or coupons. It also looks like I have to call in to use the coupon, and I can't just use it online. There may be other stipulations, but it looks like the company came through on their promise of a 150% price match! |

Got my price match 10 days ago for $135 and it expires today.....Dang I don't like rushing this! The coupon said you must call to order and I though I would try stacking with the current 15% coupon but the CSR refused. She did say that it could be used online and I tried using cashback for another 4%. Ended up spending more $$ on another guitar
![]() Mine also buzzes on the low E string but should be an easy fix. So far very happy with Musicians Friend! |

Received my promotional package from PRS (for free!)
I received a $150 coupon code, and mine also stated that I had to call in. But I tried using the code on their website, and it worked! Best of all, it also stacked with the LivingSocial coupon code ($50 coupon code purchased for $25). So I was able to use $200 in coupons on one item. Also, I just received the promo package from PRS today in the mail! It was a holiday promotion to receive free PRS gear for purchasing a PRS guitar during the holidays. The box included:

For those who purchased the guitar, it should have come with a couple of registration cards inside the box. One was to register your guitar and activate your warranty with PRS. The other was to receive free items from MelBay, a partner with PRS. I signed up for the MelBay freebies online by following the instructions - you had your choice of a sheet music book (with accompanying audio CD), two technique books, and your choice of an instructional DVD. I remember that there were several dozens of choices. It took over 2.5 months, but I finally did receive all of the freebies in a big box today! I can't be happier - a great guitar at a great price, $150 in free coupon/credit for Musician's Friend, a box of freebies from PRS due to their holiday promotion, and finally a box of freebies from MelBay. OP, I'm going to find a random post of yours and drop some more reps because this was one heck of a slick deal! ![]()
