Not the backup plus, but still a great deal!

The hard drive enclosed in the other one is the Seagate Barracuda ST3000DL001 [newegg.com] Hard drive while this one has a Seagate ST3000DM001 [newegg.com]. It also doesn't have the backup software the other one had. However, if you don't care about that, this one is a better deal in my opinion. Both are 7200 RPM

Update: Other drive had a 2 year warranty while this one has a 1 year.

Best price I've ever seen on a 3TB. Never saw one for less than $99. Even $99 was super rare after the flood. Good to see the prices coming back to earth on these. Thanks OP!

Just remember guys, you can STILL buy that other FP Seagate drive, it'll just ship on the 22nd of NOV, from amazon

That drive has 2 year warranty and costs 10$ more vs this one with only 1 year warranty..

Given the reputation of SuckGate, I think we should take all the warranty we can get.

what's the link?

Will getting the squaretrade 2yr warranty and paying with AMEX give me 4 years in total?

If I'm not mistaken, this is the best price on a USB 3.0 3TB I've seen so far.
Yes it is, at just over $30 per TB (AT for me), it is one of the best. Plus I used Discover and my rewards points, it brought it down to about $80 even shipped.

No. Credit cards match the existing manufacturer's warranty, up to ONE extra year. Not two.

Isn't that only for American Express Credit Cards?

Well if you plan on breaking them out of the enclosure, the internal is the same as the other 3TB for $99, so it is up to you.

Do they sell eSATA cables that work with this type of drive? I can't tell what type of connection it has on the enclosure. I don't have USB3.0 but I do have a eSATA slot.

Thanks

Damn, it would have been sweet to tack on a 2yr squaretrade and the 1yr amex warranty to the seagete warranty.
