If you are new to SLR I would go with the T4i. The 60D is geared tward more experienced users.

Is T4i better teamed with 18-135mm STM lens, specially for taking video?

Pulled the trigger on this deal. Seemed pretty solid to me.
I would have liked the STM lens for video, but I think I'll look for a 40mm Pancake once I learn this camera. This will be my 1st DSLR camera.

cheaper DSLRs tend to have cropped sensors, while the 'pro' DLSRs tend to have full-frame sensors. A cropped sensor, literally does what it sounds like: crops the image. so if you're at a focal length of 25, on a cropped sensor it'll look like you were using a 35mm focal length.

I guarantee that you won't really notice or be bothered by a cropped sensor, especially if you're mainly using it to document your son's activities. If it would't make much difference to you financially, I guess you might as well get a full sensor--but like I said, you won't be bothered by a cropped sensor.

Going on vacation in a week and want some nice pictures. Want a DSLR and would be my first. Should I go for this or the Nikon d5100?

Guys I know some about these SLR Nikons. I was looking for something like this with a long scope attatched to it. I want that fancy look that photographers have when they carry there cameras. What all do I need if I get this?

this is a pretty advanced entry level SLR which provides a lot more than a fancy look especially when teamed up with additional lenses... I think you might be better served just picking up a nice ultra zoom camera which has the look but with a fixed lens and probably easier to use as a beginner a lot cheaper too...

If you're a beginner, I think the T4i would appeal more to you. The T4i and 60D are basically in the same class and have their own sets of pros and cons, but the T4i has features that are more appealing to beginners (such as touchscreen and awesome video recording), and it's also a newer model. But they both have the same image quality.

There's no need to go full frame because it costs at least 2-3 times as much and you won't realize its potential until you are somewhat of an expert in photography. And the full-frame camera that everyone usually talks about is the 5D Mark II, which isn't as feature-rich as the T4i or the 60D.

Yes, it's an improvement on video and image quality as well. The 18-135mm STM lens is a very good all-around lens, better than the 18-135mm and the 18-200mm.
