My 2007 high end Samsung non-LED backlit, non 120hz LCD completely trashes the picture quality of my 2010 mid-high-end LG non-LED, 120Hz LCD. I would bet this TV outdoes the picture quality of many low-mid range LCD's you'd see in Worst Buy today.

For what it's worth, I found another TV at Target that was a little cheaper.
Crutchfield has it valued at over $1,099! [crutchfield.com] It's also not some crappy brand like Samsung, but rather a Panasonic CT-32HX42, and I got this one for only $49.99! Probably some blooper like they meant to mark it down to $499.9 instead! The 32HX42 can display both 1080i HDTV--when connected to an external HDTV tuner--and 480p progressive-scan DVD in wide-screen mode without sacrificing any of the resolution from anamorphic (enhanced for wide-screen) DVDs. Black bars appear above and below the wide-screen image. |

It would make it harder for those of use that look for YMMV deals to know if it was worth following up on, which kinda would suck. Look, as long as it says YMMV in the title, any time wasted is the choice of the person that chose to dive into the deal. So my vote is... don't use TU/TD for reasons other than "good deal/bad deal", you'd just be screwing over people that show some gumption and have learned how to shop. Shame that there's not a separate clearance forum though. Most of my SUPER slick deals have been clearance items. Including a few from Target. (My little dorm fridge being one of the more fun ones to have snagged there.) I'd love a forum dedicated to them. Call it "Scavenger Hunt" ![]() ![]()

I actually have this model in my bedroom, had it for 3 or so years. Hate to say what I paid at Circuit City, but it was allot. I would say the picture quality is as good as any TV you see sold today. Was certainly the best of the best in it's day. Would buy every one they had if I was able to find any.

.Ahhhh the days when Samsung and Sony we're blowing minds with their 120hz picture quality. Buying TVs was so much fun back then. Are there any TVs nowadays that have this effect but tenfold? Ive seen the display models in stores and they don't seem to be that much of an upgrade in picture quality, unless they're the latest Samsung models with the ultra slim bezels. Anyway, Samsung HDTVs is where it's at Last edited by MPhim; 11-19-2012 at 07:55 AM.. |
