Not sure why the thumbs down. I am in the market for this laptop and this price is very good considering the lack of sales offers on Apple products. I am glad someone mentioned the BB points opportunity. I will first check if Amazon will match the price.

Yeah, it's a good deal for sure. People thumbs down because of the price tag, not considering this is a current-gen MBP with 8GB RAM, and i7 processor, and a 750GB hard drive.

Overpriced in my honest opinion and I use both mac and windows based systems. Wifey prefers mac and I picked up the step down from this which is i5 DUAL CORE. Now normally i would recommend i7 to you when it is on the windows side since most of them are quadcore. Not sure why but apple decided to go with a DUAL CORE i7 which is JUNK.

i would save my money and pick up the step down when it is $999 and put the savings atleast $150 into a samsung 830 SSD 256gb and 16gb of ram from newegg around $50. That $200 in bump will gain you much more benefit in daily usage over a dual core i7. Now if you want to spring up and get a quad core i7 that you will use for encoding and cpu intensive task go for it.

The simple i7 dual core bump along with a MECHANICAL 750gb is not worth it. Stick with slickdeals on 16gb of ram, 256gb ssd samsung only, and pick up a accidental 3yr square trade using the 40% off coupon.

$950 from bestbuy using frys pricematch along with students $100 coupon. Manager would not allow stacking but gave and extra $50 off to meet me in the middle due to 1 week lead time on delivery. Still received 1423 points for premier silver = $28.46 in reward zone GC + 18 month no interest. Laptop was picked up next day from a neighboring store
