Well now I'm just trying to figure out if my Azza Solano 1000R can fit an EATX mobo. It's a BIG mid-tower or a small full-tower. The manufacturer page lists EATX compatibility, but Newegg only lists mATX and ATX. I'm pretty sure this would be a stupid purchase...although that hasn't stopped me in the past. Besides, I won't be upgrading my i7-2600K and I'd like the low-end SLI-capable Gigabyte board I've been using to be paired with an i5 or i3.
EDIT: It's only 0.78" wider than a typical ATX. It'll fit easily in my case. I was thinking it was full 13" EATX standard. Last edited by The_Doug; 11-18-2012 at 04:37 AM.. |

Mmm, lots of slots! Where are the LGA2011 deals... need... more... bandwidth.

I'm pretty certain I've got space for that as the mobo will end BEFORE my cable management holes and I've pretty much got 3" extra right now before the limit imposed by my 5.25" bays...not that I couldn't stuff a cable in those if I had to. The bottom line is that I've had my system running at 4.3GHz/4.4GHz the last year or so on a 4-phase Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 and that's just irresponsible for long-term usage. I've been looking for something cheap to build my Dad and now I just will need a Sandy Bridge CPU to put in this low-end Z68. That, or I'll give it to a friend who's still rockin' a Phenom II x2 555BE. |

I just wanted to chime in and say that almost all midtower cases will still fit an eatx motherboard. However you'll run out of PCI expansion slots so the bottom pci-e slots in the mobo won't be usable or at least won't have their ports facing outside.
