phew, you guys had me worried there. seems my store(s) still uses the old policy, i made a return a few weeks ago and had no issue getting full value in store credit.

i will say i'm worried about rebates with a wednesday purchase, though. my question is, last year, did they "officially" have the sale online on wednesday or was it just one of the many merchants that threw the online prices up early at an arbitrary time? I don't recall.

They don't do that anymore. Kohl's has recently changed their policy. If the returned item doesnt drop your original purchase price below the $50 mark you will still get the full refund. Another option my Kohls offers is an exact original price exchange.

yes...my wife also found that.they have started deducting kohls cash and dollar off coupon...recently we returned something with gift receipt and they said that I would get only 1$ back as the person who bought the gift used a 10$ off coupon...we ended up not returning it. So be careful when buying presents with kohls cash or those 10$ off cards they sent fir thanksgiving

if you plan to return an item don't use that Kohl's Cash at all. I think they can find if you used it or not.. also Kohls cash will applied before any percentage offers applied that means you are buying the items at its regular price, particularly for Kohls everything overpriced if you don't use 30% Discounts.

I tried to return an item that had a hole in it (never worn) and I was told I could not get a merchandise credit since I had used Kohl's Cash to make the purchase. The only thing I could do was an even exchange. This was really disappointing to me because after noticing the hole I was worried about the quality of the pants. The store was in Cranberry Twp., PA.

for those who can still get the full return value if they choose to take store credit, feel lucky! i did this for years, now my kohls says they don't do that anymore, so now i tell them I don't have a kohls account and return without a receipt. i used to purchase online and if I didn't like part of the order just return it, now I don't shop much online (or in store).

Check the bottom of your Kohls receipt next time. At least in our area, receipts say right on the face that they WILL refund KC with a merchandise credit. This has worked at several different stores over the last few months. One time they gave my wife a hassle and she pointed to the bottom of the receipt and they gave her the credit.

I seem to have to clear this up in every thread pertaining to Kohl's Cash:

First and foremost, purchases using Kohl's Cash earned will be refunded as store credit (as long as it says Kohl's Cash on the receipt).
(i.e.: $20 item purchased - $10 KC = $10 paid in cash. returning item, the refund is $10 store credit, $10 cash)

The previous policy allowed you to take a store credit for the refund amount in two situations:
1. KC hasn't been spent, KC still valid: a store credit allowed you to keep KC value.
2. KC has been spent: a store credit gives you full value of refund, original tender results in $10 subtracted.

The new policy eliminates both options. Please read the wiki over in the KT for full written explanation.

OP please correct your post. BF earlybirds begin Wednesday 1am ET (midnight CT) and KC should be live by that same time as well.

You can't anymore, they changed they're policy, they subtract it from the total. You can exchange for something for the exact price listed on the tag, nothing more or less.
