This was going to be my tablet of choice. Great reviews on Amazon and Android functionality (I'm an Android guy). However, I went to Best Buy yesterday morning and spent about two hours comparing tablets. Unfortunately, the display on the Note 10,1 is not very good. Text is muddy and hard on the eyes. The build quality is, well, cheap. I walked over to the new iPad 4 and was blown away by how crisp the display was and how solid the device felt.

Perhaps if I never compared the two side-by-side the Samsung Note 10.1 would have met my needs. Now that I have experienced the truly great display on the iPad 4 and its solid construction, I would be hard pressed to recommend the Note 10.1 without suggesting a similiar comparison.

Now I debate, do I wait for the next Note 10.1 with hopes it brings the Nexus 10 screen with it, or do I go to the "dark side" and buy an iPad 4? If you are into Apple, or have no brand loyalty either way, this is a no-brainer - go iPad 4. Oh, the shame...

I bought it for $549 a week ago from Amazon. Is there anyway I can get price match without returning? Thanks

Thanks the reommendation, I did. While I liked the display, the web browser had serious lag. Pinch-to-zoom was delayed and web pages did not scroll smoothly. Given the Asus quad-core it must be a software issue. I'm not one to root, so I decided to pass.

If you judge a tablet solely based on whether it has ridiculously high resolution and an aluminum casing, then go buy an iPad. The Note 10.1 blows the iPad out of the water when it comes to the spen and multitasking, not to mention other things like the remote feature which is really nice. Sounds like these don't matter to you so yes you should get an iPad.
