If they're like a lot of these tablets they may be rooted right out of the box.

k i was able to root google play via a root file from xda. MY FIRST ROOT!

but now my webpages wont display but it shows they connect to them.

also their is a gps option but for some reason google maps doesnt find my location

Don't believe this has a GPS.

Just bought 2 for the kids for Christmas. Now they can stop harassing me for my phone. This is by far the best tablet for the price I have found for kids or light web surfing/play. For anyone looking for a few more options the iRulu [amazon.com] can be had for about $20 more shipped.

Good find, I agree this would be a good starter device for the kids.

i didnt try that link above, i just googled through XDA and someone has files uploaded to add google play, and other misc apps like battery savers and increase the performance. ive found a link to an older netflix version that is suppose to work. so im working on that now.

as for free flashy games... what are more?

how do i load apk files?

I think I'll ditch the LeapPad 1 and get this instead for my kid
