The one from adorama is very very new. I got mine with ZERO shutter count. I dont think the one from cameta is better because cameta is store refurbish compare with adomara is Nikon USA refurbish.

In all honesty, I think I would prefer the Refurbished to the Factory Demos that were the last deal from Cameta. I guess it is just personal preference but I don't mind the fact that something is refurbished but I feel you are rolling the dice with a Factory Demo as you don't know where it has been, what it has been subjected to or anything else. Sure, the majority probably work just fine but that is my line of thinking anyway.
I have been watching D5100 deals for a while and I am tempted to jump on this here soon but still hesitant with BF coming up this week. I have a feeling there may be more deals coming up. |

I looked around for D5100 black friday deals but no good deal though. All of them are more than 500$. Compare to Adorama on ebay which 429$ + 80$ for 2 year warranty from Squaretrade. It's a pretty good deal right now.

I got a 1500 shutter count from adorama. the camera was scratchless. the lens im not too sure. i have to look at the lens a little closer. good enough for me but maybe not if I want to sell. mine was refurb.

My 5100 from Cameta had a shutter count just over 500, and the body and lens looked brand new. It functions well and the pictures it takes are amazing. A great improvement over my D3100 for just a $65 upgrade.

As an FYI, Amazon has NEW D5100 body only for $447. This comes with the full Nikon warranty given that Amazon is a authorized seller. In addition, amazon is giving away a starter pack (includes a full Nikon bag & dvd), a 16gb SDHC card (class 10), and a nice amazon basics photo backpack bag. Oh, and a $2 amazon mp3 credit.
All of this, plus I had it shipped 2 day (with the prime trial) tax free, for $447.
