Thread Details

The Kev Master found out that Firestone Complete Auto Care will be doing a Black Friday doorbuster special that will take $150 off $400 for any tire or service purchase.

Also, for the first 5 customers they will be giving away Bosch Wiper Blades with a $20 purchase. He doesn't know if the two can be combined but he thinks a chat with the manager could easily resolve that especially if someone is spending over $400.

He got some quotations for his buddies and found out that some of the good prices are on the Bridgestone Dueler 695AT and Serenity Plus, which are on sale.

Why does it read "Save UP TO $100" off 400?

The Kev Master is not sure why it says that but all the stuff he's looked at and got quotes for were given the $150 off.

Never mind bait and switch, their prices are sky high. I took my truck in because my clutch was engaging with the pedal depressed. The inspection cost $130. That is more than an hour of labor to check out the problem. Ridiculous. Then they gave me an estimate of $1000 for the repair, which they said was a leaking clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. Replacing the slave cylinder requires dropping the transmission. I called up another repair shop, they quoted me $500 for the same job. I ended up doing it myself, and all it required was a new clutch master cylinder. I will never again take my car in to Firestone. Lesson learned.

I checked out a set of tires for the truck. Firestone wanted 202 each for a particular size/brand. Tire Rack was 160 each for the same tires. Neither included install.

MIGHT be a good deal if I could get 2 of these deals. 202X2 = 404 minues 150= $252 for 2 tires. Is it one per customer?

The Kev Master thinks that would be possible, just talk to store GM and see if they're cool with that. Most times they'd do it to make the sale.

Alright people not much of a tire guy. But do any of you know if the Firestone Champion HR tire (215/60/16) is any good?

Mine is awesome! Very happy. Both DH & I lucked out when he went in. They repaired a front end issue i had that 3 other shops could not successfully repair - wore 3 sets of front tires in 3 years.

I was reluctant, i've heard stories similar to yours but give them a try. YMMV
