hmm...kind of rethinking buying this. A lot of Newegg reviews say it makes an annoying high pitched sound when the computer isn't even on.

You can't please everybody. Same thing goes for any product. I bought a Kenmore refrigerator and people were complaining about the shelves and compressor noise. I got it anyways and it's very quiet, so I don't know what planet they are on.  I mean, even if you look at two other popular power supplies, they still only have 4 out of 5 stars overall: LINK [newegg.com] LINK [newegg.com] One even won a 2011 Award for Best Power Supply. |

Meh.
This is a good deal but not super slick. 46A on +12 means this is a 550W PSU in essence. Antec Eco Neo 620W regularly goes on sale for $35 AMIR Antec Earthwatts 650W was $33 a few weeks back Black friday is only 4 days away with (i imagine) deals that will beat the ones I mention above. Unless you need a PSU TODAY wait on buying one. Great rebate Companies:
