 Actually, I prefer to throw my Seagate crap out after it breaks, which is usually 1-2 days after their warranty expires. The WD black has a 5 year warranty. Using it to type this - great drive... |

I've got a older laptop & I think my HD is about to crap out on me any day now. Its a Dell e1705, I think its just Sata1 and 5400. anyone know if there would be any issues replacing w/this one?

Its already OOS at newegg.com and Amazon's price match is also gone at this time. Beware of ordering from Platinum micro at Buy.com or Amazon market place. I just burnt my fingers. Their's is not in retail box. Its OEM with just 3 year warranty, instead of standard 5 years.

Newegg, added to cart then signed into my account and then it was removed and changed to sold out.
I prefer newegg over amazon I'm in the boat that I pay taxes w/ amazon and not w/newegg. Tried amazon right after and price match was gone. Oh well, hopefully my laptop won't crash before the next deal comes along. |

Now there is also the Seagate 750GB 7200 at Amazon for $59 (different thread).
I don't mind Seagate at all, running the XT 500 currently. I bought 2 of the WD on the first round (arrived today), but would have gone for the $20 less with the Seagates otherwise.
