Incorrect - The 6950 2 GB does not "totally destroy" the 6870 1 GB, but it is indeed a faster card, sitting 1 tier higher on the THGCH chart. This would be an amazing deal, but $100 is just too much of a rebate IMO.

Edit: For what it's worth (and to combat the other comments in this thread dubious of the power needs of this card), that was driving an Phenom II 955, 8GB RAM, two 7200rpm HDDs, one SSD, and a few fans. I was doubtful that it was the video card too, so I tried upgrading to a more power conservative Ivy Bridge CPU and taking out an HDD, but it ended up being the GPU. I was probably just dealing with a kinda crappy PSU, but I would give this card plenty of overhead to be safe. Last edited by jonac13; 11-19-2012 at 11:15 AM.. Reason: Clarity |

4 tiers difference between those 2 cards - HUGE! This card would not "blow" the 4850, as technology is not yet advanced enough for that type of scenario to exist for most people. However, it would blow it away without even lifting a finger. Last edited by TH0R; 11-19-2012 at 11:16 AM.. |

For $10 or $20, sure I'd consider upgrading. But I take into consideration the time and effort needed, it isn't usually a straight $20 trade off. To each their own, though. I doubt you'll find many games where the 560ti 448 will give you an extremely noticeable better experience than the 6870. For what it's worth, I own both these cards and currently use both in 2 different systems. So I'm not just going from benchmarks and reviews. |

I'd highly recommend people stay away from this card and MSI in general. I bought this video card 6 months ago, it was dead in 2 months. First RMA'd card worked for 2 weeks before the same thing happened again,. and the third card only lasted 5 days before it crapped out as well. I'm pretty much SOL now and I'm done going back and forth with MSI regarding it, but I hope others will really think long and hard before pulling the trigger on this card.
