got the Auria from microcenter yesterday for $490+tax with 3 year replacement warranty, if anything happens during 3 years i just take it to MC and they either give me a new one or a newer version(if any come by then) or just refund me $400 i initially payed for it. Was thinking about going ebay route and u can get a new one for around $270 shipped now but that would be a basic model with only dual link DVI connection and no on screen menus of any kind, also if it dies on u -its a headache trying to get a refund as well if it dies on u in 13 month - u got $270 paperweight. SO after thinking about it - MC route seems the best = better model with all connectors, on screen menu and dont have to worry about it for 3 years.
No dead pixels(couldnt find even 1) = works as it should(still waiting on 7970 ghz edition ordered from amazon) now how would i calibrate it? Which color profile is the best for this puppy?

It is an IPS panel..........much better quality for graphics editing. I could accept this lag.

Not really. Maybe on paper, but in use it looks great. I've been using this monitor for gaming since last summer and I have absolutely no complaints.

Its definitely worth paying extra over the ebay sellers in order to buy it from a US retailer with a decent return policy (and good dead pixel policy), and have it come with everything you need including a decent OSD and display port.

Do monitors STILL not come in anything greater than 60hz? My laptop had like 70Hz in the 90s and since then it seems tehy've all dropped to 60hz. That is simply shit since even the TVs nowadays are standard 120hz and above. What gives man? I spend 10 hours a day staring at a screen and my eyes feel like they are bleeding by quitting time most nights. Do I need to just dump the desktop altogether and get a nice laptop to resolve this issue? Someone please advise because Im not gettin it. Thank you all for your time.

LCD monitors do NOT work the same way as CRT monitors do, and the refresh rate does NOT directly correlate between the two.

CRT's refresh rate is the rate in which the screen is completely redrawn. As in, if it doesn't redraw the image, it will go away.

LCD's on the other hand, will NOT fade away if not redrawn. It still means the # of times (per second) that the screen can/will be redrawn, but if nothing changes, the image isn't messed with. So, there is no flicker (at least from the refresh).

You could still (possibly) notice tearing/artifacts/ghosting/etc. when playing a game or video, but that is different than the flicker you could see from a CRT.

Also, for the most part, 120 hz for TV's won't make much of a difference unless you're doing 3D (or so I've heard... can't stand the 3D crap myself) or if the source isn't in 120 hz. Can't say I know this part as a fact, but that is what I've gotten from reading around.

As for the OP, I have 2 of these for my setup. Beautiful colors, no input lag that I can notice. Going from a 37" 1080p TV to this 27" took a bit of getting used to, but it is definitely worth it. My only (real) gripes are 1) the stand is teh carp... wobbly as all get out, and 2) the power bricks get a might bit toasty.
