Those have a 5-ply clad base. The Tramontina are clad all around including the sides which help with heat retention and distribution. I've used an All-Clad set and it was great. I'm looking forward to picking up my Tramontina set.

Someone has (skwid) and I even quoted him/her so really it's been mentioned twice. 4 times now... It's a good review though, definitely worth mentioning again.

Slightly off topic, but would the expert care to share what to look for to know if it's full layered construction or just the bottom (assuming it isn't listed on the product page)? I'm curious as I have $120 in Khols cash from the Dyson deal and would like to spend it at Khol's on a set of pans and they don't carry this brand.

Should say so in the description. Don't go by the brand/model, read the actual description cause they can be kind of tricky. Things like Tri-Ply bottom, encapsulated disc, <anything> disc, etc means it is not full layered up the sides.


Edit: I got a set of these a couple/few years ago, and they have been great. The only negative I have, is that the handles on the pans aren't very comfy to grip. Otherwise, I am incredibly happy with the quality, selection, durability, and price of the set I got.

If you are ok with glass lids. They cant go up to 500F in the oven. Go back to page 2/3 I think they discussed it there.

I've had these (actually, the larger set, but the same type) for a few years, and love them. They're a really awesome set of cookware. Cook's Illustrated actually rated them their #2, just behind a set of All-Clad that's priced WAY more! Great deal.

I was on the fence about making this purchase until I read this. Now I'm in for a set because clueless and entitled robots make me want to support the nation's largest employer, other than the government of course, that much more. I can't wait to give this quality set of cookware purchased from a fine American company as a gift now.

I hope the people who are unhappy with their jobs at Walmart go find a place to work they like better, or better yet, start their own business and compete and create jobs for others to complain about.

This set has been $109 twice before and the Better Homes and Garden 10-piece set [walmart.com] is only $15 more on a regular basis. This set has slightly different size pots but also includes a 6-quart dutch oven. All indications are that these two brands are the same company. Tramontina is just more shiny than the BHG version apparently.

Yes, actually I was. And now the Waltons have another $114 of what was my money in exchange for a quality product at a very good price, I am doubly satisfied about it and we both have you to thank for it.

What I was hesitant about with the deal was paying the sales tax, which I usually try to avoid when shopping online, especially since there is a comparable and competitively priced product on Amazon that I was considering instead. It was worth it this time. I don't even mind having to go pick it up rather than having it delivered to my door in this case.
