i read the comments and not sure what you are referring to..........they seem pretty positive to me.

also the guy doing the review used a single band phone. results may not be the same if he used the new dual version. you think?

I had the Single band Defy and cellular signal was a problem outside my home, my virgin optimus had rock solid signal and Defy struggled. The CS process is a little pain, BUT the company did the right thing everytime. Swapped my dud Defy with a little less dud defy, gave me a prepaid shipping label for both returns, initial purchase and 1 month fee were refunded within a few days of final returns.

The bill was ~22-23 after taxes in NJ.

I needed a phoen so got a S3 (for $99) and run it on ST ($48 + free phone) every month. I use ~50-60 hours of cellular minutes each month but 80% time am in a good wireless zone.

I would have gone back to RW, but S3 has spoilt me

Thanks! I was waiting for an e-mail from them, since I was in a wave and didn't want the single band Defy XT. Hopefully, I was pretty quick to order. I've been wanting to try out their service for a long time.

If you get the 5% discounts from like callingmart the monthly bill is $28.50 only. I have my 2 girls with Iphones on that plan.

How does the non-wifi cellular work? I live in a rural area and the prepaid phone plans that use Sprint's network aren't viable because Sprint doesn't have a lot of primary towers here and their prepaid plans can't roam on Verizon towers (unlike the contract Sprint plans as they can piggyback off Verizon). Just wondering how that would work for me as it would be a deal breaker if they weren't allowed to roam/piggy back on Verizon's towers.

RW is the only prepaid service provide who provides complete roaming, so in case your area does not have sprint coverage, you should roam on Verizon. The issue was that single band defy had only the 1900 MHz band, so even thought RW was supposed to roam , it could not. Now that dual band Defy is out, that should no longer be the issue.

The Defy XT has better specs than my iPhone 3GS. I'm looking at it as an upgrade. AT&T has been happy to charge me massive amounts for using my outdated phone.

I'm new to Android Smart phones. Will having gingerbread 2.3 limit the apps you can download severely? I understand the phone itself might not be powerful enough for the most modern games and all, but do a lot of apps discontinue support for older OS? I know with my Ipod Touch a lot of apps required the newest patch. Specifically would netflix be supported?
