Thanks OP! I missed the $70 deals so I'm happy to get it for $80 since this drive appears to be better than the Samsung 840 and going the way of the dodo.

FYI, the product page says the drive is "On Order" which according to their FAQs means they have an actual shipment placed with the manufacturer or drives coming from somewhere.

For what it's worth, I called the J&R sales department and asked how long it would take to get the item. The sales rep. said I would likely get it in 2-3 weeks.

I placed an order, but if a better deal comes along and the 830 from J&R hasn't shipped I'll just cancel with them.

Wait for what? During June & July sales there was a big back & forth about buying (now --> June/July) or waiting until Black Friday. People were speculating on huge price drops (but many of us pointed out this was one of the distinct & likely possibilities that there wouldn't be a lot of stock of the 830 anymore. Newegg is out of many of them especially ones that come with the kits. I'm sure there will be some more remaining deals but there will also be gouging as the supply further dries up. If you want an 830 there aren't many vendors with stock left and far less putting it on sale like it used to. if you don't care as much about reliability there are plenty of deals for other brands / models but not with this one's reliability & solid speeds.

I've never purchased from JR.com before. It's temporarily OOS right now, but people can still place an order... does J&R wind up cancelling the overflow or do they fulfill the orders once they receive more stock?
