Canon denied $400 rebate, this is what happened.
So I my friend bought a DSLR with the printer and got a $400 rebate.I bought the same thing but shipped it to his home because he has a doorman 24/7 and I don't have anyone home to pick up the packages as I work 6 days a week. So now Canon denied my $400 rebate because they said that I already did this rebate. The name and the billing address on the receipt is different, only thing the same is the shipping address. Can they even do that Denying my $400 rebate only because the shipping address is the same? Isn't 1 claim per household are according to the billing address and not the shipping address? I feel cheated by Canon....what should I do? It's a $400 rebate....not little money to me. |

If the rebate rules state that it's only one per household, then they did nothing wrong. Realistically, you should have known better. Why would you have the rebate mailing address sent to your friend's home? Why not a relative's home then? Because, you already knew he mailed in the same rebate!

Very foolish of you to send it to the same address of someone who was also doing the rebate. I doubt they'll do anything because they've probably heard every excuse under the sun from people trying to scam the system trying to redeem multiple rebates. Hopefully I'm wrong. Good luck.

Usually with rebates, the address you put on the rebate form is what counts when rebate processors do the Limit 1 per address thing. Not sure if OP put his or his friends address on the rebate form. But it's kinda stupid though, I mean...you can have five friends and you can order it with the same credit card with the same billing address and ship it to five of your friend's or family house. |
