Costco usually does not sell junk, so I'd be surprised...

But even the full retail with a stand at $219 makes it hard to believe that this is a quality tool company and saw??

Poked around and found precious little:

I am not so sure this is a good deal. I just returned a HF 10" slider, it's dirt cheap after super coupon. But it's useless for making trim.

Costco tools usually are a hit or miss, they don't have access to major good brands and the parts supply in the US is questionable. I personally will not take a plunge after a bad experience with their warehouse 'Stanley' shop-vac.

for about the same price i picked up a 12" hitachi dual bevel saw. keep an eye at lowes for it,

$300 regular price. on sale for $200 plus a free hitachi brad nailer. sell the nailer on craigslist and you net should be about the same price.

most DIY people will be better off with a bigger blade rather than a slider saw. cheap slider saws are also notorious for not making straight cuts.

The miter stand is only $49 at Sears BF ad, besides I don't see a need for homeowners to have a dedicated miter stand rather than a make shift work surface made with a pc of plywood and 2 saw horses. BTW, the 10" slider in HF is only $79.

I picked this up. It has a stand, laser light, and from this blog post about 10" vs 12" miter saws, I'm convinced 10" is plenty:

I would recommend this for any DIYer/Homeowner. I'm looking forward to repainting our kitchen and adding panels with this.

For anyone who ordered this - how long did it take to ship? It's been a week and I don't even have a tracking #.

Would definitely be interested in hearing reviews about the saw. Been looking to upgrade to a slider, and I missed out on that rigid 12" slider a couple months back...
