This product works well dissolving deposits in your engine and pushing them out along with exhaust. The only problem is that all that crap that is being pushed through exhaust clogs your cat converter. I am talking from the personal experience. These a$$holes need to be sued for clogging my cat!
Do not use this if you know that your engine is dirty, or you will get stuck with the huge bill for cat replacement.

how do you know it was caused by this specifically?

Uh, no. That's not their fault. That would be your fault for not having a clean fuel system and engine (or possibly car manufacturer that makes shit cars lol). Sue your state. They're enforcing the emissions BS.
Carbon buildup is normal. All cats eventually become clogged. You just helped it along by blowing out more carbon.

Gut the cat(s) and forget about it. Install anti-foulers or O2 simulator (if you have emissions testing) and enjoy better power and fuel economy from getting rid of those worthless Fing cats.
