Thread Details

I haven't seen any good deals advertised on lawn mowers for Black Friday. My mower just broke (won't start even after cleaning carb and doing almost complete rebuild... not worth it), and I should think someone would offer some good deals on lawn mowers (at least here in the Midwest) since it's getting cold, and all the lawn & garden areas are being converted into Christmas decoration areas.

Lowes? Home Depot? Sears? Any places have good deals at this time?

I have a 21" TroyBilt with a Honda engine, had it for 2 seasons hasn't skipped a beat, starts every time
Make sure you dont get one with the Briggs and Stratton engines they are troublesome after a few years

I ended up getting that mower. Awesome mower! I needed a mulcher, didn't want a self-propelled (too complicated, too many extra bits that will need maintenance), and I wanted a good engine. The Honda didn't even sound like it was working while it was going through 3-5" piles of leaves!

There was one deal on a Snapper (I think) over at Sears Outlet, like $260, but the mower was odd—it had strange handles that reacted to the pressure of your pushing to guide the mower. But it was mighty uncomfortable.

Anyways, Lowe's has the TB110 (with a B&S engine) and the TB130 (Honda engine), which are nearly identical otherwise. I went with the TB130 since it had the higher rear wheels and the Honda engine. Nothing but good reviews for it all over the Internet!
