OOS for shipping at Best Buy and Sears

This thing uses 390 watts of power (many other sets use around 200 watts) . It contains a CCFL backlight that contains mercury (so properly recycle and don't take a sledge hammer to it with).

If you pay for this item with Best Buy gift cards purchased now at most Krogers you would earn enough fuel points to save you a total of $98 on Kroger gas which would in effect be an extra 17% in savings, see this link for more complete info on the current Kroger 4x fuel promo.

^ I don't advise this. paying with GCs on big items loses extended warranty that CCs give you.
Additional 5% CB using chase freedom
OR
10% shopdiscover CB + 5% discover online shopping CB + extended warranty upto 2 years

I'm just going to make a point, in my opinion, of course. I don't think WIFI is a big deal or the USB because I think many people should have something like a blu-ray with wifi, a PS3 (wifi built in), Xbox 360 (wifi built in on new ones), Apple TV etc....especially on a TV this size.

Touch choice, this or the 60" Panny plasma for roughly the same price after gas/taxes are figured in?

Agreed, so many accessories to stream from -- Netflix, pandora, etc.. coming on all blu ray players and console systems now, not a big deal of the TV doesnt have it

Ya, love having USB on my 51" samsung. I have an external hard drive that I ripped my movie collection to and can watch them all via the usb port. It's an invaluable feature.
I agree 100%. A buddy and I were just taking about features that are more practicle. And he agrees as well. Heck a TV with a least 4 USB, I can get into.
Funny how to increase the price of TVs today, the manufacturers are adding stuff like 3D and "smart TV" which to me doesn't make practical sense yet.
Funny how he said he picked up a Samsung with 3D, paid for it, but has yet to utilize it or has no plans to use it. By the time he or his kids get aroud to the idea of checking it out the technology changes and the price drops.
Reminds me of people buying HDTV "capable" and "ready" several years ago but there was not broadcast of HDTV content. By the time the networks got around to it, prices were adjusted accordingly.

Don't you have to have the media player feature built into the tv for that to happen?

No. Most TVs that have USB on it, have some kind of firmware/software built into the TV. Usually called "media playback" or "media player".

Plug any storage device into the USB on your TV, launch the "media playback" button on the remote, and you can browse through the files (mp3, video, pics, etc.) and launch them.

It saves on having to buy a WDTV or a device like it to play your files.

That to me is where the true modern technology of TVs should be doing. No different than a PC. Just a chip and the licensing to play back content (DivX, Xvid, H264 , mkv...etc).
Torrents are out there. Just download what you want (or rip what you have) and put them all on a large capacity USB or external and sit back. Sort of like having a jukebox in your TV. Love it.
