OOS for shipping at Best Buy and Sears

This thing uses 390 watts of power (many other sets use around 200 watts) . It contains a CCFL backlight that contains mercury (so properly recycle and don't take a sledge hammer to it with).

If you pay for this item with Best Buy gift cards purchased now at most Krogers you would earn enough fuel points to save you a total of $98 on Kroger gas which would in effect be an extra 17% in savings, see this link for more complete info on the current Kroger 4x fuel promo.

^ I don't advise this. paying with GCs on big items loses extended warranty that CCs give you.
Additional 5% CB using chase freedom
OR
10% shopdiscover CB + 5% discover online shopping CB + extended warranty upto 2 years

I doubt TVs with USB today can play mkv files, unlike most media players. But I would be pleasantly surprised if they did. (Too lazy to google right now, lol)

Edit:

Someone a few posts below me says their TV does play mkv.. so that's pretty neato.

ugh very tempting, but I think I am going to hold out for the Vizio 60" due to LED and being very thin. damn.

Pickup is available in my local Bestbuy store too......

Actually they can. My 51" Samsung 720p plays MKVs just fine.

No. Most TVs that have USB on it, have some kind of firmware/software built into the TV. Usually called "media playback" or "media player".

Plug any storage device into the USB on your TV, launch the "media playback" button on the remote, and you can browse through the files (mp3, video, pics, etc.) and launch them.

It saves on having to buy a WDTV or a device like it to play your files.
So your tv just have usb playback and no internet packages like youtube and hulu plus?

Would this TV be better than the 60" Vizio that Amazon and Walmart have?

Ya, love having USB on my 51" samsung. I have an external hard drive that I ripped my movie collection to and can watch them all via the usb port. It's an invaluable feature.
how bout the digital sound? does your tv pass through the digital audio through its spdif output from your movie file? or do you not have a receiver? i havnt found any tv that would pass through the dts/dd from a media file through the tv's spdif for the surround sound receiver to decode. usually it says sound not supported, or only plays it in 2ch stereo which sucks. yea im one of those guys where big nice tv needs surround sound.

do it, so less ppl for me to fight at walmart Stick Out Tongue JK!

I think I am holding off for the 60' Vizio. I was reading reviews of this model from people on Amazon, and its mixed.

Its not super thin (not led), there are some complains about it, not smart, etc.

I think I 'm gonna hold out for the 60" Vizio from walmart/amazon.....we'll see.
