Is it OK to buy and then claim the rebate for both? My family uses Symantec, but while I'm at it I'd like to give the Kaspersky to a friend.

yes its ok to buy 1 of each and do each rebate separately... it its own envelope etc... just make sure to follow the directions... they are now asking for the FULL BOTTOM FLAP not just the barcode UPC cut out

you should be able 2...just make sure the rebate offer numbers are different....and the staples will more than likely use a different rebate processor and rebate #. the only 2 makers that I know of that only allow 1 rebate per product per year is McAfee and now AVG is doing this on some things I think...

Great deal, thanks Selma. I've used Norton for over 10 years now and have always been happy with it and always protected. In for another year!

+1 on Kaspersky. I have honestly used both products and found Kaspersky superior on detection rates, although I have had printer issues with some of my clients using Kaspersky Internet Security. Might take some setting up depending on your network.
I have to say I really like Norton AV, it's light and it semi-works. Detection rates are at least better than MSE.

I was a former Norton hater...tried BitDefender. Eventually tried Kaspersky. Got something nasty while Kaspersky was at the helm. Removed it and put on Norton 360. It uses less resources. Computer loads faster, webpages load faster...and I haven't gotten a bug in the nine months I've been using it.

The "new" Norton is much more "lightweight" than the one of five years ago or so.

Agreed, anyone whom has heard bad things about it should actually give it a try. The new versions run VERY VERY lean and have decent detection rates. I just wish people would stop using Webroot's SecureAnywhere... What a joke.

I ordered the 360 the other day, should still have rebate. Worth the extra $10.

Well im not going to pretend I have tried Norton recently but it used to be the complete opposite of that. Ive never heard anyone even trying to suggest Norton is lighter on resources than Kaspersky lol. Usually Norton has been a huge pile of crap that brings systems to a screeching hault.

Anyways, I did notice some of the newer Kasperskys did add some crap I didnt like, but past that, I cant say I feel bogged down at all. I run Kaspersky 2011 still, you can always load older versions with the licenses. This one is very light. I would say something might have been wrong with your computer if you noticed it taking longer to boot or loading webpages. Maybe something was configured poorly.

I'll wait for the Staples deal, easy rebates baby.
