Yes, you're fine as long as rebate offers numbers are different.

I have been using both software on my computers. If I have to point out one biggest complain for each, they are:

Kaspersky: their IE add-on (part of protection, I suppose) slows down web browsing significantly, especially when you open new window. In fact, IE will periodically ask which add-on to remove to speed up things. You will get used to it after a while, but it was bad when you first encountered that.

Norton: their automatic idle background scan sucks and cannot be disabled. It steals CPU resources even when you are executing some CPU intensive long process (e.g another antivirus program in manual scan mode), as long as there was no PC action (e.g. mouse click for a while). Tried to disable it in options settings, but it didn't stop.

the $5 deal was better.

norton runs great btw.

Where is the $10 code from?

Ordered both.. Will decide later which one to use..

You're better off with Malwarebytes for browser protection anyways.
Unless all that ID protection stuff is what you're using. Never been convinced those are in any way effective.

got kaspersy - it's better than nothing i usually don't use IE so i guess i will be fine also it's not so difficult to switch off add-ons in IE.

There should be no issue about removing the Kaspersky IE add-on as IE would do that if you allow (like I said, IE periodically detected the slow load time caused by the add-on and reported the delay, which usually ranged from 0.2 to 0.5 sec, and asked whether to remove it). However, most users would not know for certain how important that add-on is as part of the total protection software (after all, the web browser is the main access channel for most web users), so one would hesitate to remove it.

I didn't know that. Maybe she works for both of them on commission basis. I don't see why anyone would spend so much time doing this.

I currently use both Norton AV 2012 and Malwarebytes. Both have caught a few viruses/malware...so far I've been clean!

I noticed an immediate difference when I uninstalled Kaspersky and then installed Norton. Nothing else was changed/configured, so it wasn't a configuration issue.

And to your earlier (unquoted) point, yes, Norton used to be HORRIBLE. They are dramatically better now as far as being light on resources. Again, I used to HATE them. Now, they are typically top of the charts in reviews and win quite a few "awards".

Hoping that Norton 360 will be free somewhere else. Got it from Fry's last year.

thanks OP... added in the FAR Kaspersky and Norton onto the clip zip+ 20 refurb and with cash back from discover and the"FATWALLET" = 7% total... this refurb unit will cost me like 12 bucks... LOL

agreed.. I had an issue with KAS and firefox... it would block certain pages bc it installs some plugin and the plugin was not able to work right and you couldnt uninstall it... so when the issue would happen I would have to turn KAS off to view the webpage I wanted and then turn it back on after I was done...LOL...I searched the web and some others reported the problem... and there was no fix for it... so I can do without KAS these days... but like the cash back...and give them to friends and family....

yeah norton 360 is only FAR 1 or 2 times a year... I try to keep an eye out for it... but its really not needed bc you can get a FAR tuneup utilities 2012/13 or get 2011 key for free on here from past threads... the TUU does the same thing as the little extras 360 gives... except I find it does them better...
