Thanks! I haven't had much assembly time yet, so so far I have installed the CPU to the mobo, and installed the CPU cooler and the RAM. I think I'll be installing the PSU next, then putting the mobo in the case and then going from there.
I have seen some people test-fire the mobo with it out of the case, but I don't think I am brave enough to try that. I'm afraid I'll short it out or something crazy!
Just be sure it is on some cardboard or something, lot of people use the mobo box itself. You definitely want to get it to POST before installing in the chassis. If you end up putting it in and pulling it back out to try and figure out why it won't boot you are much more likely to do damage than just firing it up on a table and trying to diagnose any issues from there.
