A Slickdealer may be able to find this phone at Best Buy for the $49.99 price, then use the Phone Freedom offering that was available earlier in the year. Add the wireless charger to that and we have a pretty good deal.
The Phone Freedom deal was offered by Best Buy earlier in the year. $50 off (Probably a $50 Best Buy gift card) when purchasing you phone at their store.
Got the black one yesterday. It's a nice phone. Beautiful screen, great camera, especially in low light. Excellent build quality. Surprisingly, WP8 is awesome (very fluid and satble) although needs a few more features to catch up with iOS and Android (customization, settings, etc).
Couple very minor gripes:
- Mine is nearly perfect, no flaws, except for the dedicated camera button. I don't know if it's done intentionally, but the button is very easy to half-press (almost no resistance).
- It is annoying that the haptic (vibrating) feedback for the three capacitive buttons can't be disabled. I guess disabling would help battery life somewhat, but alas.
Anyway, thanks much OP. Will go to the store to price match.
I switched from an iPhone 3G to the Lumia 920 (yes, the super old 3G). I've played with both newer iPhones and Android phones (I even had an Android 3.2 tablet). The way I look at it is iOS is too simplified, has gotten stale, and lacks customization (much like old non-smartphones, which also had the grid of icons before iPhone launched). Android is very customizable, but tries too hard to be like a PC and ends up seeming a bit complex, and what feels like a lot of overhead in the OS. WP8 phones end up somewhere in the middle. IMO, its either Android or WP8, but WP8 wins it for me. And the Lumia 920 is pretty awesome. Got mine over a week ago and I'm loving it. Beautiful display, great camera (photo and video), excellent interface that is quick and smooth, phone itself feels great and well built.
My main complaint so far is the music player needs work. Button placement is bad and can't scrub through a song (this is one thing that iPhone does the best out of all phones). However, that isn't nearly a reason to not switch to this phone. Easy enough to get used to, and a 3rd party app can change that anyways (or an update from MS).
