Yeah, I got three of these on back-order still which arnt released until like Dec 6-12th. The original with $10 of hobbit movie money was pretty bad ass. I am still amazed they can sell these for $12 for 3 movies. I hope the quality is still decent. I know the extended is remastered, these are not. Id have to assume they still look pretty damn good. $12 for a trilogy for a epic such as this is a pretty good deal.

Well that person posted the wrong link I think. This is the one that had it not been for the addition of the Free in store pick up it WOULD have been a repost. But that essentially makes it $1.97 cheaper, so considered a "new deal."

I saw this set for $9 in store last night... no movie money though.

Yes, I was quite pleased with the T.E. quality. I have a (SD) Samsung 7.1 HTIB and the sound is spectacular and circles the room. I also found the video quality to be very very good. We have a TV that does side by side picture like PIP, but one of the HDMI ports got shocked, so I can't do a completely fair comparison but I would like to do a side by side with the T.E. & the E.E. blu-ray. I know others have done it, and some see the green push. I thought the community was going to nail down why some (with what equipment exactly) get see it in the E.E. and some don't.

BTW, didn't test these $12 Walmart trilogy T.E. but I am referring to the older ones I got from InetVideo.
