Because not everybody has a small house with no interference. The problem with WiFi and all wireless signals is degredation and interference.

Again, it's not about speed, it's about consistency and you are thinking wayyy too much about yourself and not about other people's potential situations. Wired doesn't require a lot of extra hardware, most of the time it is done as a pre-wire before the house is even finished.

You might not have a problem with wireless, but many people do. WiFi CAN handle most situations but again, not ideal.

Ripping people off? Lol this coming from the guy who bought an Apple router. You obviously don't have a large house, if you did you'd know wired is the standard with wireless as only supplemental for mobile devices, ALL of the heavy lifting is done via wired connections.

Regarding gaming, I am sure the ping is near optimal under ideal conditions, but guess what? Conditions arent always ideal, they change. There's a reason LAN parties and professional gamers don't use Wi-Fi for their connections.

You know, if you want, you can use a coat hanger as an antenna, it won't be ideal, but it'll work.

But go ahead and keep arguing with a professional who works with dealers and custom installers in this industry, I am sure your DIY experience and knowledge will surely trump anything I can say. LMAO
Didnt we already talk about you ASSuming?

1) My home is 4000+ sq/ft. And theres a RJ45/RJ6 wall connection in every room. Its pretty standard these days on newer homes. I still prefer wireless as I dont have to worry about cable runs or the placement of my devices in different rooms.

2) I've been a Microsoft certified network engineer/admin since 1999, and worked fulltime in IT since 1997. I know this may be mindblowing for you, but you arent the only person in the world who puts food on the table by networking devices.

3) Wired is popular at LAN parties because 1) Its plug & play, 2) hardcore gamers are concerned about absolute best performance with every component of their rigs.. and spend $1000s on processors, videocards, ram, monitor refresh rates, etc, 3) Most desktop computers dont have a wireless card.

4) I bought an Apple router, because all the other models I tried had issues. Apple routers are well known for their stability, speed, range and easy interface. Did you read the Anandtech review I posted? http://www.anandtech.com/show/457...ster-wifi- Or do you prefer to continue living in ignorance? What's sad is that you claim to be a professional.. yet you do not even understand the technology you sell.

5) I'm sure that no matter what I say, you'd continue pushing wired because its the "company line" and that puts more money in your pockets.

LOL I think so, I ordered both but I always wanted this one over that outdated Sharp.
Don't know why you say that. One is 55" the other 60". You can dismiss that but it's a definite plus. Then there is $100 difference. LED is not necessarily better picture, could have banding/etc. Extras features are only good if you are going to use them. There is no such thing as an outdated TV. How is a 1080p TV that the primary function is to watch television on outdated if it fulfills that objective with better stats at a lower price point? Why is this one so good anyway, it doesn't list wifi, or 3D, or nothing to indicate the backlighting is superior, so why is this new and the other outdated just because it has some LED on it, they've been putting LED's in electronics since 1962. And people still use fluorescent lights in their homes, why is it outdated? Why does it matter where the light comes from long as it looks better.

I'm also trying to decide between this 55" LED and the Sharp 60" LCD... moving up from a 42" so either will look huge in comparison, not a TV aficionado by any means but I do spend a fair amount of time watching TV and movies and of course I'm interested in it looking good overall.

It's baaaack! Just purchased online.

Went to BB yesterday to check out this TV and the 3D/Smart Panny. Albeit the 6000, not the 6001, the Samsung had far superior picture quality.

I arrived at the store with the TV in my mobile shopping cart ready to pull the trigger, but figured I'd try and buy one in store. No such luck. By the time I finished yammering with the sales rep the TV was OOS online. Fwiw, the sales rep said it was an awesome deal n

I still cant decide if I want a Plasma or LED. I have never had a shiny screen before.

All the TV have good and bad comment. Unless you get a 2K tv which has backlite and local dimming!

Everybody is trying to cut corner and make the TV cheaper to sell!

I went to BestBuy store to see two 55inch LED Samsung TV and picked one. The $799 55inch is a EH6001 series and about 3"inch + thick. The $1099 55inch is a ES6100 series and about 1"inch+ thick. Both are Smart TVs. I got the ultra-slim ES, half the thickness and it will look better on the wall since I have to stare at it for the next few years. EH is bulky from the side-view. BlackFriday sales just started, so if I find this same TV for less money I will get another(and return the one I have with no re-stocking fee)

I just placed an order for the 55 inch. Used E BATES 3.6% cashback and also had my AMEX linked with t that $20 FB credit from yesterday. Entered my BB Rewards code too. It was frustrating bc AMEX denied it at first until they called me to confirm the purchase so that held it up for a minute. Also when I tried to checkout the BB system hung up so I called them to be sure I only purchased on TV. All good since I got the confirmation email. My TV purchase is OVER. Hurray. I hope you guys get the TVS you want too.

I also ordered the 39.99 HULU from another thread: http://slickdeals.net/f/5551000-Roku-HD-Live-at-Best-Buy-39-99-FS?v=1&p=55085796&utm_source=dealalerts&utm_medium=em-i&utm_term=49655&utm_content=u329118&utm_campaign=tu-9999#post55085796

Thanks for all the discussion on this thread. This is the link to the one I got which is the same one from OP:

So throughout this thread I've seen people say OOS then later seem to order. Is BB throttling inventory throughout the day?
