No, no and NO! Put this on a full frame lens and you'll be just fine. You'll see at LEAST as much as someone with a crop censor will see. There will be a decent amount of black surrounding the image but you just crop that away and you've got the same image someone with a crop sensor would get. Yes, you won't be able to take full advantage of your full frame sensor but you'll get perfectly usable images for $230. I did this and it worked just fine, and there is software that will allow you to batch crop your images so that you can do them all with one click. Now, if you have a full frame sensor and don't mind paying a little more, there is a new version of this lens with a removable hood, it was as low at $300 recently from Amazon - http://slickdeals.net/f/5391686-N...d-after-CB But you can get it on eBay for $300 without too much trouble. Now that there is a version of this lens with a removable hood I do not recommend making the modification to the original version (without removable hood). It's a complicated process and I'm sure the failure rate is higher than with most modifications. If you've shelled out the dough for a full frame sensor shell out a little more for the updated version of this lens, it's well worth it. I had the original Rokinon then sold it and upgraded to the version with the removable hood. No complaints. |

From a functional standpoint, this is the better overall deal with cashback. From a monetary value standpoint, the Rokinon from BH is the way to go. Bower>Samyang>Rokinon>Bell&Howell>Pro-Optic Most people don't even know Pro-optic exists. Last edited by MOkoFOko; 11-20-2012 at 09:56 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

All of this is besides the point. The f3.5 is CLEARANCE STOCK of outdated merchandise that was recently replaced with a brighter, better f2.8 lens. So as usual, people are jumping on a "SlickDeal" of old stuff to save a minor percentage of the purchase price.

So far, I haven't seen any announcements regarding Canon or Nikon mount releases. We'll likely be stuck with the newer removable-hood variant 3.5 for quite some time. Last edited by MOkoFOko; 11-20-2012 at 10:43 PM.. |
