anyone have experience with Great American Insurance Co. in regards to their Lifetime Powertrain warranties?

A dealership near me offers this for their new/used cars. They have an Infiniti g37 [myhudsonnissan.com] that I would love to get (if anyone snipes this from me I'll be pissed) but am wondering how much stock to put in this lifetime warranty. The claim is that it extends the factory warranty to unlimited years and unlimited miles and is supposedly good nationwide. My only obligation is to do the required maintenance according to the user manual. Has anyone made a claim with this warranty? Any problems/smooth sailing?
The guy that I've been talking to about the car even told me that if I prefer to do a repair at an Infiniti dealer there is only a $100 deductible or something like that.
You can also chip in with thoughts on the price of the car. The site recently reduced the price a few hundred bucks (was at $24,200 last week when I first saw it). It is the Journey Trim package (no nav).
edit: Is there any way to just purchase this warranty on any car? Maybe I could use that when considering competing cars.
