i haven't gone to a store that wasn't already open in a few years because I've been going to walmart first. but back when i did there were always employees standing there when the doors open and you can ask them to point you in the right direction. unless there is a map of the store released then everyone else will be as clueless as you and there will be a delay in people immediately grabbing. However, the last time I went there wasn't the whole online ad thing so you didnt know the stuff on sale until thanksgiving day and the store didnt open until the next morning when the sale started. you may want to either make a trip to office max and ask them where stuff will be or call and ask. That's if office max is a high demand place (i don't really know)

Depends on the store. Best Buy has a good system with tickets and they setup stations where you can get the items (or they will do it at the front checkout). Many will have the doorbusters setup as you enter the store (Office Depot, Staples tends to do this). Target and Wal Mart spread their stuff around the entire store so you kind of have to hunt around for everything you want.
Tip: DO NOT get a cart if you can avoid it! Especially at stores like Target/WalMart there are so many people in the store if you are cart-less you can more easily slip in around people with carts who are forced to wait in line just to get around. Obviously if your getting a big TV you probably need one but if you can avoid it grab the hand basket or just load up your arms. Also walkie talkies are gerat if you have them, since the density of people and the noise and often makes it difficult to hear or get a cell phone call. Which is perfect if you are going with other people so you can divide and conquer and get in/out of each store quickly. Last edited by ai42; 11-20-2012 at 06:46 PM.. |

They can be in either location, a special one or the usual shelf. Typically you can ask an employee. Sometimes I go on Wednesday before Thanksgiving to scope out items I want and ask employees how Black Friday will look.
I have never been to Office Max on Black Friday. |
